With CaCo3 as its formula Calcium Carbonate IP is a chemical compound. Commonly it is got in rocks across all the parts of the globe, it is the chief constituent of shells of marine animals like pearls, snails coal balls and eggshells.

The huge majority of this chemical, utilized in industry is taken out by quarrying or mining. Pure calcium carbonate BP (e.g. for pharmaceutical or food use), can be formed using a pure extracted source (generally marble).

Alternatively, it is made using calcining crude calcium oxide. H2O or water is added to provide calcium hydroxide, and then carbon dioxide is conceded through this preparation to precipitate the anticipated chemical, denoted to in the business as precipitated CaCO3.
